I get sick for a long time and lose my job and my apartment. Homeless, I go South in search of work. This is a record of my journey and some of the people I meet along the way, but it is also a picture of what homelessness looks like in the America of the 21st century, a time by which some of us had thought starvation and homelessness would have been banished.
We were wrong.
